Charles
Caudill
Caudill, an award-winning international journalist and high-tech
marketing executive, has spent more than 26 years in the broadcasting
and cable television news industry. During two decades, in which he held
a variety of news management positions for CNN, Caudill helped revolutionize
international television news coverage and programming to create one of
the most enduring brands in his industry. He personally covered some of
the most important news events of the late 20th century while playing
a critical role in the evolution of CNN from a cable news network start-up
to an international powerhouse in television journalism and online news.
Caudill, as Vice President and Senior Executive Producer for CNN, directed
news coverage, often on location, for such major news stories as the Soviet
coups, the breakup of the Soviet Union, the student demonstrations at
Tianaman Square in Beijing, China, along with every major U.S. national
election since 1984. He was one of the first television news executives
to realize the importance of establishing a solid affiliate network system
that would benefit the individual television station as well as CNN.
Caudill and his CNN news teams won dozens of Emmy, Peabody and Academy
of Cable Excellence awards. He won praise, along with many awards, for
his direction of CNNs Gulf War coverage, as the upstart cable network
continually outflanked the three primary broadcast networks and achieved
worldwide recognition as the leader in breaking news.
After leaving CNN in 2000, Caudill served as Executive Vice President
for MessageHero, a high tech start-up in Silicon Valley, specializing
in unified messaging, VoIP and voice recognition. There he was the head
of web development, media and public relations, as well as one of the
companys leaders in marketing, business development and fundraising.
Caudill rounded out his communication expertise in 2002 by running GlobalFluency,
a worldwide communication network, founded by NealeMay & Partners
in Silicon Valley and New York City. GlobalFluency has more than 40 agencies
around the world and is one of the leading independent communication networks
for high technology companies.
Caudill holds a Fine
Arts undergraduate degree from San Jose State University and a Masters
of Political Science from Georgia State University.
